New skill
        A new skill is necessary to operate EMP weapons to their maximum effect, and that skill is, obviously, EMP weaponry. This skill, a stand-alone skill, covers the use, maintenance and all other pertinent info on EMP weapons.

          Smartlinks
        All EMP weaponry can be modified to use a smartlink.

          Cybertechnology

        This skill, at any rating, provides a -2 bonus when targeting cyberware, because it provides knowledge of the usual locations of the devices that you would not normally have.

          Damage Placement

        As for the actual systems of damage, the rules in the back of the Street Samurai Catalog for randomly finding the cyberware damaged are excellent for the purpose. Because I'm tired of typing, I'm not going to repeat the info here.

L-general slowness, minor glitches
M-very noticeable slowness, 30 minutes to 2 hours before complete failure.
S-total breakdown, but repairable
D-total destruction. At this point, the cyber is dead weight.

Example of Play

        Johhny the Corporate Courier is taking some sensitive data to a corporate enclave. Englebert has been hired to stop Johnny, and he plans to use his brand spanking new Penetrator to get the job done. He aims and fires at Johnny's head. Normally, this would be no contest. But Johnny read the post on Fireball Cybernetics on the Toxic Roaches Home Page, and got himself some Iron Shielding. The Penetrator, which does 8S damage normally, is taken down to 3S by Irons armor rating.

        Englebert roles his EMP Weaponry skill, which is 3 (he's been practicing) against TN 9 (Johhnys far away), minus his Smartlink and Cybertech scores, which bring the TN down to 5. He gets 2 successes. Johnny rolls his cyberware's body of 4 against 3s, and only gets 3 successes. Johnny's messed up, and goes into convulsions when his Cortex bomb accidentally goes of. He dies seconds later. While the data could be recovered, as his head memory only took serious damage, it'll take long enough to make the info useless. Englbert smiles. Mission Accomplished.
